為避免引發MERS大規模第三波感染，南韓封鎖兩家醫院，醫院內的患者、護士以及醫療人員，全部被禁止出入，這是南韓發生MERS疫情23天以來的首次。
到今天為止，南韓再添四起MERS確診病例，昨天也再增一人死亡，目前確定感染人數達到126，十人不治。
南韓當局擔憂，這兩家醫院和已死亡的第90例的62歲患者，可能會引發第三波感染，所以，將昌原1家醫院和首爾陽川區1家醫院整體封鎖。
受到MERS疫情影響，南韓娛樂和消費活動減少，它已經對經濟產生衝擊。
MERS已經在南韓奪走十命，當局未能即時遏阻疫情，民眾對政府的防疫能力，產生懷疑，衛生當局發布防疫指導原則，建議大家儘量不要去人多的地方，在公共場所，最好戴口罩，同時避免靠近發燒或是呼吸很大聲的人。
